Upon graduation from Holley Central School she was accepted at Highland Hospital School of Nursing. While in Rochester, she met her "beshert", Harold. They were married in June, 1955 and together have four children: Laurie, Marc, Steven and David. They were also blessed with eleven amazing grandchildren: Jennifer, Taurie, Zachary, Gabby, Kayla, Adam, Sarah, Kathryn, Grace, Jackson and Justin.
June and Harold joined Congregation Beth Sholom in 1961. Through the years she has been president of Sisterhood, honored as a Woman of the Year in 1978 and enjoyed two shule tours to Israel with Rabbi and Nechie, in 1986 and 1991. In 1990 she was honored by Israel Bonds and was also President of Hadassah. She enjoys, in her spare time, singing and performing in the Sweet Adelines (12 years), and she is also involved with amateur theatre at the JCC. June is partners in a Household Sale business and catering for the shule with her good friend and co-honoree, Helen Cohen. June helped to start the Beth Sholom Thrift Shop with Helen three years ago and also is a volunteer for the Jewish Hospice for the past twelve years. June loves all things related to her family and her shule, and it shows! June and Harold have been residents of the Penfield for 38 years.
