Jacob & Lois Kluger

Jacob & Lois Kluger are proud members of Congregation Beth Sholom and of the Rochester Jewish community.

Jacob was born in New York City and was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School.  He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the Cooper Union and was a licensed professional engineer in NYS.  He received his MS in applied mathematics at the University of Rochester and wound up being a 30 year employee at Xerox Corporation until his retirement in 1993.  He is active in Congregation Beth Sholom’s daily minyan, the Men’s Club and has been the coordinator for the Greeters committee at our shule for a number of years.  Jacob’s willingness to volunteer and to do so quietly and with quality has made him a worthy honoree.

Lois Kluger was born in Troy, New York and received her Bachelor of Science at the Empire State College.  She received her MPA at SUNY Brockport and was also employed as a Registered Nurse at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital.  Eventually, she came to Rochester permanently and worked at the Finger Lakes Developmental Center until her retirement in 1996.  She is a volunteer for the Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team.  Of great importance to her is her shule.  Lois has been a very active member of Congregation Beth Sholom’s Board and a very important cog in the Sisterhood.  Lois and Jacob take the greatest pride in their 4 sons and 12 grand children, which give them tremendous nachas.  Lois, like Jacob, willingly volunteers for just about any project that will help the advancement of our shule and we proudly recognize the two of them for their great work at Congregation Beth Sholom.

See a presentation put together by the Kluger's son Levi for the event.
